Happy 5th birthday Dominic!!

Well to be fair Dominic also had his 5th birthday on the 7th. Yes we do it all in December Dom's birthday, Linc's birthday, my birthday and Christmas. It's a busy month filled with happiness and presents. This year with all the craziness we decided to have Dom's friend birthday party closer to the end of the school year when everyone is not so busy(I'll keep you all posted on how that goes). So we took him to Chucky Cheese on his birthday with 1 of his good buddies Evan, Evan's parents and Grandpa and Grandma. He had a great time and is anxiously awaiting the day when he can "go to Kindergarden". We had his 5 year doc. appointment today and he got 4 shots. We had talked about the shots before had, so he knew that they were comming, but after he got the shots with the tears still in his eyes he says"There Mommy... now they'll let me into Kindergarden". How precious is he? I hope once he actually goes to school that he will still be so excited.

Happy 1st birthday Lincoln.

It's been a while since I've posted. I can't believe how fast the weeks go bye with 2 children. Somedays are just a whirlwind and when I finally sit down at night I wonder where the day went and why I got nothing accomplished on my never ending to do list, then I remember I have 2 boys with endless energy. Lincoln turned 1 on the 14th we had his check up and he is a VERY healthy boy. He is almost 25lbs(75%) and 32.5inches tall(98%). We had a joined birthday party for Linc and Dominic(who turned 5 on the 7th) at our house. Linc enjoyed the party and loves all the presents he got as does Dominic. I am lucky they are still at an age where I can combine they're parties and they still enjoy it.

Dom's 1st Timberwolves game...

Wednesday Dominic went to his 1st Timberwolves game. He went with Daddy, Chris and his buddy Evan. They had a great time. He got to eat Chocolate ice cream and San Antonio won in double overtime( Dominic is anti-Minnesota teams except the Wild "which is the best team in sports ".)What more could a boy ask for:) Enjoy the photos....

Haloween...

We all had a wonderful Halloween. Dom surprisingly was not super anxious about the day, but did like the fact that he was going to get free candy and eat a Jack-O-Lantern pizza for dinner. Dominic was Jengo Fett (which was choice #3 in the costume category. #1 was Captain Rex from Star Wars and #2 was Boba Fett neither of which were in his size.) Linc was a Lion( which he loved once he figured out he could move in it.) 1st we started off at Grandma and Grandpa Jameson's as we have done every year and then we came home and hit the neighborhood. This was actually the 1st year that Dominic has trick-or treated at "strangers" house's and at first he was a bit hesitatent to go up to the door, but after the 1st one he was all for it. Linc (Mr. Independant himself) did a great job also. He was very excited about being outside at night and he had to walk up to every door himself (clapping, smilling and babbling all the way:)..

Peek-A-Boo..

Tonight while we were cleaning up from dinner Linc must have decided that maybe his shirt was to dirty or maybe he just wanted it off. So he proceeded to try to take his shirt off. Now Peek-a-boo or as we call it in our house "Where is Linc" is one of Linc's favorite games to play so as he was trying to get his shirt off he decided to play a bit of "where is Linc" in between. Here are the pictures...See how proud he is once he finally gets it off. Boy oh boy 10 months and already undressing himself, what an interesting future we have a head of us:)

Look who's walking now!!!

It's been a while since I've posted, boy where did the time and summer go? Yes it is true. We now have a 9 1/2 month toddler. Linc is walking with great confidence. He toddles around the house trying to catch his brother or one of the animals(poor Randy and Zoe), then he stops and claps for himself all with huge smiles on his face. We had Linc's 9 month apointment and he is 23lb and 2oz(89th percentile) and 30.5inches tall(98th percentile. It says on the info sheet that they give you that 50%tile is middle and 97%tile is the tallest. So I suppose Linc is just setting the bar then:)... He is growing up way to fast. We are so proud of you buddy...

What do you get when you have 2 kids + 1 parent+bedtime+sprinklers??

As I was putting Linc down to sleep tonight Dominic was supposed to be putting his Sponge Bob puzzle together. Well I guess it took me just a bit to long to get the baby fed and down to sleep, because when I came out to put Dom to bed the puzzle was finished but no Dominic. He decided that since he was done with the puzzle and I was still putting Linc down that he might as well go run through the sprinklers until I was ready...jammies and all:) Boys will be boys.

Linc's 1st boo boo...

Mr. Lincoln Pries is 7 months going on 18 months. He is Mr. fearless and believes he can stand and walk when he has minimal balance. The other day he decided he was going to stand and walk by himself. So he went from his downward dog yoga postion and pushed himself up with all his might. He did stand for about half a second until he went tumbling down and smashed his forhead into the corner of the wall. Poor little guy. Keep practicing you'll get it someday.

Last night I was sitting with Dom while he was eating his bedtime snack and he wanted to watch something on TV. I told him "No it was too late" and reminded him it was bed time. So out of left field he just shouts "MOM I HATE YOU" I said really? You hate me because I won't let you watch TV at 8:00pm when it's bed time? He said "Yes your rules are ridiculous. I want to watch a show" I said "Well unfortunately you are 4 and you don't get to make the rules. You should be grateful you get to make as many decisions as you do. Some kids don't have parents that listen to what they have to say and those kids have to do what they're parents tell them ALL the time." Dom says" Well watch out Mom soon I'm going to be 10 and THEN you won't control me!" I said "Yes dear I will still control you when you're 10". He said "Well not when I'm 14". I said "Yes, when you're 14 too..". Then he goes "Mom how old is Daddy?" I said "33". He said "Will you still control me when I'm 33?" I said" No you will be able to make your own decisions at 33". Dom goes "Really? Does that mean I can get my own juice anytime without asking?" Ah the worries of a 4 year old....We love ya Dom.

4 Months

Well time is just flying by Linc is 4 months already. We had his check up Tuesday and he is 16lbs 14oz (93rd %) and 27 1/2 inches long (99 %). What a big boy:) He has found his toes and LOVES to grab them whenever he has the chance, he also grabs everthing and heads it straight for his mouth. He has found his high pitched happy squeel and is very tickelish...He is also starting to sit by himself ...I can't wait to see what 5 months brings us..

The conversation...

Lately we have been talking to Dominic about hurtful words and teasing, but you never really know how much kids are getting from what you are telling them. The other night we were at my in-laws (Gail and Arlo's) for dinner and to bottle the beer Arlo and Jeremy had made.
After dinner I was feeding Linc and Oprah's Big give happened to be on the TV. Gail asked me if I had been watching it and I told her yes I TIVO it but Jeremy makes fun of me because I always end up crying during it(I'm a sucker for that kind of stuff..) As I'm sitting in the rocking chair feeding Linc and talking to Gail Dom comes over to me and very seriously says" I need to have a conversation with Daddy". I said "Really Ok ...About what?" Dominic says "I hear Daddy's been teasing you. I need to have a conversation with him about that. We do NOT tease" So he goes to the back room where Jeremy and Arlo are bottleing the beer and says "JEREMY we do not tease" Jeremy says "OK buddy who's been teasing? Dominic says." I hear you been teasing Mommy.. That is not acceptable..we do not tease it is hurtful. You should go tell her you're sorry and if I hear of you teasing Mommy again she will have to put you on the naughty step for at least 6 minutes..." It was hilarious to see him actually put it into his own context...I guess he really is listening to us:) More than we even are aware of..

The Snowman.

Winter has graced us with one final(I hope) day of winter and I am very thankful because Dom has finally done it!!!! Dominic has made his 1st snowman....I know what you're thinking he's 4 but up until this year Dominic has never been a winter kind of kid. He has NEVER liked the cold or wetness of the snow. So we would get him all bundled up and in less than 5 minutes he would fall in the snow and want to come back in. This year he has finally discovered that snow can be fun!! Everytime we have tried to make a snowman this year it has never worked out and we end up making snow mountains, snow volcanoes or snow forts. Today was the perfect snow and with Daddy's help Dominic made the 1st snowman to ever grace our frontyard. Hooray for you Dominic!!!

In honor of it being baseball opener Dominic decided that after the snowman was built it was time to use it for batting practice. Boys will be boys:)

The Letter

We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!!! Dominic and I have been talking about the Easter bunny all week and Friday night he deceided we needed to write him a letter so the Easter Bunny knew what everyone wanted. Here is the letter he dictated to me...

Dear Easter Bunny,
Dominic would really love a Star Wars video game. He would also like:
-a pair of red shorts.... size 3T
-a yellow and blue ax
-a blue violin with a white stripe
-a new bright white football
-a new dark blue and bright white guitar
-a storm trooper costume and mask(because Santa didn't bring it for me)
-The Death Star Legos...

Please bring Lincoln:
-a new bouncy seat, because the one he has toy bar breaks when I try to pick it up. Oh and it should be black and white.
-a dark black and bright blue rattle
-a red and pink bat to snuggle with at night
-a bright blue cookie monster book with red and black pages
-a black and white hat

Please bring Dad:
-a red and white elephant to snuggle with
-a new black and red winter hat with a pink and dark blue Spiderman on it.

Please bring Mom:
-a dark black and pink hat with a black and red remote on it
-snow pants and a snow shirt
-a blue and red sweater.

Randy really needs a 6 foot bone and the cats need a toy. Niko's should be grey and pink and Zoe's should be pink and white.

So we left this letter out last night for the Easter Bunny.
The Easter Bunny did get him the Star Wars game on his list, but of course she got the game for the wrong XBOX.
Jeremy said "I'm sorry buddy but you can't play this game on our system" Dominic goes "That's ok Daddy the Easter Bunny forgot to come down and check what video system we have. We'll just have to take it back to Target and get a new one:)"

Happy 3 Month birthday Linc!!!

Wow 3 months already. It seems just like yesterday we brought him home from the hospital. On Monday he rolled over from his back to his tummy. I thought it was an accident so I rolled him back over. He did it again and then just laughed at me like ha ha mommy I'm not going to stay here for very long. He LOVES to watch Dominic, so I'm sure he can't wait to get moving and follow him all around:) He is growing into a happy baby. He does still have his fussy times, but it is getting less and less by the day. We are very grateful to have him and love him very much...Happy 3 months Linc!!!

My Rockstar!!

The other day I was sitting on the couch feeding Linc and watching Dominic play. Most of the time when
Dom plays by himself he recites Dr. Suess story's, sings or just makes up conversations. On this day he was singing and I was actually in tune and listening to what he was saying. Here are the 2 songs he performed that morning that cracked me up:

Song 1..I call it Mommy Loves Me...

...123 My mommy loves me...
..123 My mommy loves me...
..When my baby cries I sing to him..
..123 My mommy loves you...
..123 My MOMMY LOVES ME!!!!!!!!...

..

Song 2....I call it Love You all my Life...

I will love you all my life
I will love you all my life
I will love you all my life
FOOL!!!!
I will love you all my life
DOO DOO DOO DOOO
YEAH........

This song he sang a couple of times..it started out sweet and soft and transfored towards a green day sort of version and finally he ended with a screaming death metal version....

What a sweet boy he is:)

Keep Him!!!

The other day Jeremy and I went out to dinner and my parents watched the boys. As we were dropping them off my step-dad says to Dominic "Well what do you think of your little brother? Are you going to keep him or send him back? "
Dominic says with the most serious face.."Well Grandpa we CAN"T send him back. They would have to cut a hole in mommy's tummy and he doesn't really fit in there anymore." I guess we're going to keep him:)

Hard Work

"Boys are hard work" october 2007

One morning Dominic and I are getting ready to go to pre-school. I'm in the bathroom getting his toothbrush ready and he walks in with this serious face and says "Mama boys are hard work"...
T: Hard work huh?

D: Yep...my Grandpa is hard work. My Daddy is hard work. I'm hard work...boys are hard work.

T: Really who told you that?

D: Nobody I've just been noticing.

T: Noticing? What do you mean by hard work?

D: Well in the morning I have to get dressed and brush teeth before I can do what I want. My daddy has to go to work everyday before he can come home and do what he wants..that's hard work.

T: Oh I see. Well girls work hard too.

D: Nope ....girls just get to do what they want when they want...Boys are hard work.

Here I go!!!

Well I've decided to take the plunge and start blogging some of Dominic's most unique thoughts and moments. I have already started to forget some of them as he gets older and that frightens me. So now it's time to start putting them in writing...
Dominic has always been a good talker and he says most of what is going through his mind. Some of the things he comes up with are hilarious and some just make my jaw drop that at 4 years old he could even grasp the concepts. So here we go.... I hope you all enjoy them as much as I do..
